The two remaining towers of the KnoxHannington house, built in 1790, have been conserved and form an iconic centre piece to the park. Work is due for completion in July 2012 and is designed to enhance the visitor experience to the town along with the new public realm scheme for the town centre which will create new pedestrain/market/parking and event locations in a revitalised townscape. The Council has embarked on both these projects as the first steps in the regeneration of the boroughs main market town. In total, both schemes represent a public sector investment of approximately £7 million.
