Council Delegation visits local Aviation Firm

A Council delegation led by the Mayor of Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough Council Councillor Robert Mulligan; Chairman of the Economic Development Sub Committee Councillor Walter Cuddy, Councillor Pat Daly, Mr Vinny Beggs Enterprise Investment and Grants Manager and Mrs Pauline Gallagher Economic Development Project Officer visited the factory premises of Mallaghan’s to see at first hand the innovative product range being produced by this local company.
Originally established as a Civil Engineering Firm in the 1960’s, the company was founded by the late Terry Mallaghan and has now become one of the leading aviation industry suppliers in the manufacture of Airport Ground Support Equipment, producing highly acclaimed GSE products to an ever-expanding global network of customers. The current Mallaghan range includes Catering & Cabin Cleaning Trucks, Motorised & Towable Passenger Stairs, Toilet & Water Service Trucks, Medical Lifts, Cargo & Baggage Handling Equipment & Airbus A380 GSE Range.
Ronan Mallaghan Managing Director was delighted to have met the Council delegation and was praiseworthy of Council’s interest in the company he stated,
“Mallaghan take pride in the fact that our highly skilled and committed workforce continue to help the company weather the current economic crisis, which has proven disruptive to the Aviation Industry at present’.
The Mayor Councillor Robert Mulligan expressed a keen desire of Council to assist local businesses and was very impressed with the visit.
Councillor Walter Cuddy Chairman of the Economic Development Sub Committee commented “I hope the exchange of views will lead to a better understanding of local businesses’ needs and we will endeavour to support these where possible”.
Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough Council through its Economic Development Committee has arranged a number of similar visits to local companies within the Borough over the coming months.
