During 2009 DETI has been compiling a matrix of the different types of financial support that have been made available to Northern Ireland's SMEs in order to help them through difficulties arising from the current economic downturn.

EU Agricultural and Forestry Processing and Marketing Grant Scheme

What can the Scheme Fund?

Capital investment to erect new buildings, refurbish old premises and buy new equipment.  The maximum grant payable is 40% of eligible costs and will vary depending on the size and turnover of the enterprise.

Who can apply?

Micro, small, medium and intermediate sized enterprises with less than 750 employees in the agricultural and horticultural sectors who are involved in processing and marketing including:

  • Processors;
  • Groups of producers who market their produce collaboratively;
  • Individual producers who want to process and market their own produce.

What sectors are covered?

  • Red meat, Pig meat, Poultry meat, Eggs, Milk and milk product,Potatoes, Horticulture (inc fruit and vegetables), Cereals, Forestry
