Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust Super Whooper Project

Have you heard of the Super Whooper!?

The Super Whooper project involves putting satellite transmitters onto Whooper swans in Iceland to track their autumn migration back to areas like Lough Neagh and Lough Beg in Northern Ireland.

This will provide more information about the swans' migration route and will help to assess the threats they face on their journey.  This vital information will be used by WWT and the Irish Whooper Swan Study Group, who are hosting an AEWA* Single Species Action Plan (SSAP) Workshop on Whooper Swans in Northern Ireland in November.

This project is supported by Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough Council, as well as various other funders.

Please click on the link below and follow the fortunes of seven whooper swans that were recently fitted with satellite transmitters in Iceland.
