Blackwater Bonanza at Benburb
On Saturday 21st July Dungannon & District Rambling Club will host a day of walking based around the spectacular Benburb Valley Park. It is here that the River Blackwater, that forms the boundary between Armagh and Dungannon districts, can be appreciated at its most boisterous phase. This event is part of the Blackwater Regional Partnership's rambling programme for 2007 and is funded by Border Action through the INTERREG 111A Programme for Ireland/Northern Ireland.
The day includes a long walk, suitable for ramblers, through the valley and surrounding area. There will also be an opportunity for shorter walks in the afternoon, including a chance for the kids to explore the new Ecotrail while the grown-ups can enjoy a guided heritage walk through the valley.
Registration is at Benburb Servite Priory at 11.00am for the longer walk and 2.30pm for shorter walks. There is no event charge and light refreshments will be provided.

This is a unique area: three counties and three estates in close proximity steeped in ecclesiastical, industrial and architectural heritage. The event is funded by Border Action through the INTERREG 111A Programme for Ireland/Northern Ireland. There is a minimum contribution of £10 per person which will be donated to the Autism Initiatives charity. A festival leaflet will be available with all of the details. Pre-booking essential.
