Chief Executive

Iain Frazer, Acting Chief Executive


The Chief Executive is the Head of the Council staff and its principal adviser on policy matters. The Chief Executive has the responsibility for ensuring the efficient, effective and equitable discharge of responsibilities of the Council as laid down in legislation and in particular the Local Government Act (NI) 1972.

The Chief Executive is the chief financial and accountable officer of the Council and has final responsibility on legal matters. He directs its various departments through the management team who are responsible for providing effective leadership, strategic development, corporate governance, partnering with elected members and setting the operational plan of the Authority as an efficient, effective, innovative, leading edge and adaptive public agency responsive to local needs of its citizens.

The management team consists of the following Directors and Managers:
