Creative Writing Classes with Martina Devlin

Calling all aspiring writers! Learn the art of creative writing from award winning author Martina Devlin at Dungannon Community Arts Studio this autumn. In association with Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council, Martina will host a ten-week course which will explore how to develop plot, characterisation, dialogue and description, plus how to approach an agent or publisher with your work.
The course will begin with a full day on Saturday the 8th October, 10.30pm – 5.00pm and will be followed by weekly sessions which will take place on Monday evenings from 7.00pm –10.00pm, starting on Monday 17th October and finishing on Monday 5th December.
Martina Devlin was born in Omagh, Co Tyrone and lived in London for seven years before settling in Dublin .She worked as a journalist and started writing fiction after winning a Hennessy Literary Award for her first short story in 1996. This was followed by four novels: Three Wise Men, Be Careful What You Wish For, Venus Reborn (nominated for the Sunday Independent-Hughes and Hughes Irish Novel of the Year award) and Temptation. Her fifth book, The Hollow Heart, is non-fiction and was published by Penguin in September 2005.
