Publish Date: Thursday, 01 September 2005

How can my business succeed in the international market place? If this is a question for you and your business, then you will find all the answers you need at Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council’s forthcoming conference, ‘Business in a Rural Economy: An International Approach’.

Over two days the conference will explore topics such as the regeneration of rural regions, growth and development of rural enterprise, women in business and tackling EU development policy at the Glenavon House Hotel (Cookstown, Co Tyrone) on Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd September 2005.

Mr. Vinny Beggs Economic Development Manager with Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough Council said: “Attendance is a must for small to medium size enterprises with an eye on operating the global market. Local and rural businesses will have the chance to hear from real situations where small family businesses in Northern Ireland have achieved success on the international market and what processed where put in place in doing so”.

The conference aims to provide an insight into rural business today, with examples of best practice from leading experts such as Powerscreen International founder, Pat O’Neill and John Conway, Managing Director of Meteor Electrical, Ireland’s largest independent electrical wholesale based outside Cookstown in Co Tyrone.

Eddie McVeigh, Head of the European Commission Office in Northern Ireland, will discuss the future of EU development policy and John McLaughlin, Marketing Manager of North and West Coast Links Golf will give advice on marketing rural golf courses internationally.
