'Euro' Information and networking Seminar
Publish Date: Wednesday, 27 April 2005
In an ongoing bid to encourage and facilitate local businesses to adopt the euro as a second currency, Dungannon Regeneration Partnership (DRP) will host a ‘Euro Information and Networking Seminar’ on Thursday 12th May at Bank Buildings, Market Square, Dungannon.
The seminar forms part of a pioneering strategy by DRP, which aims to promote Dungannon as a Euro friendly zone in order to maximise trading opportunities for local businesses across the border and within Europe.
Paul Mc Creedy, Town Centre Manager says: “ Recent consultation shows that a large number of local businesses already accept euro currency, which is expected to have a positive effect on the local economy and will ultimately make the area more welcoming to visitors. DRP hopes to encourage the acceptance of euro amongst other businesses, by hosting this seminar and providing an information pack which includes training advice for frontline staff.”
Mayor Councillor Robert Mulligan praised the efforts of Dungannon Regeneration Partnership who continue to promote the town in a positive light. He said:
“I would commend the actions of DRP in implementing this project, and also the many local businesses who have worked on their own initiative to facilitate visiting shoppers from across Europe and the South of Ireland. It is anticipated that the efforts made in Dungannon town will eventually be rolled out to other towns and villages throughout the Borough.”
