This years event will be hosted by UTV husband and wife team Lynda Bryans and Mike Nesbitt, and will be attended by an array of talent from across the Borough.  The categories for nominations are Sport, Arts, Industry and Community/ Voluntary.

The Achievement Awards annually recognises outstanding achievements at County, National and International level in the fields of arts, sports, industry and community/voluntary. The Council’s event organisers are looking forward to this year’s awards ceremony:

“Preparations for this years Achievement Awards are now underway and all involved are working hard to ensure that this year’s event is the biggest and best ever.  Everyone knows someone who has excelled this year, whether it is in an artistic or sporting capacity, someone who has made a special contribution to his or her community, or a company or individual who has stood out in the business arena and we encourage the public to get in contact and let us know.  Dungannon and South Tyrone has a lot to be proud of and as usual we are anticipating a big response.”

Members of the Return of the Earls Committee, which is made up of Councillors, Council employees and representatives of local community groups will select winners in early March, and successful nominees will be presented with an award on the big night.

The Council is seeking nominations for achievements during the period 1st March 2004 –25th February 2005.  If you know someone who has achieved high standards in a sporting or artistic activity or some one who has enhanced the image and profile of Borough through their work or hobby, contact the Public Relations Officer on 028 8772 0341 for an application form.  Everyone who makes a nomination will be entered into a draw to win VIP tickets for the star-studded event on Wednesday 16th March.
