LEARNING AT WORK DAY - 14TH MAY 2009

THEME :- SKILLED FOR SUCCESS - COACHING

Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough Council acknowledged Adult Learners Week and 'Learning at Work Day' on Thursday 14th May by providing 'Coaching Skills' for Line Managers and female members of staff under the Council's Gender Action Plan.

Coaching is a valuable competency/skill for managers particularly as part of the personal development planning process and is also a valuable life skill.
The Council wishes to promote more work-based learning opportunities for staff and used the Learning at Work day as the perfect platform for stimulating workplace learning and skills.

Employees learnt about the various tools used in the coaching process, questioning techniques, learning styles, team roles and development and the multiples benefits of coaching in the workplace.
