FINANCIAL WINDFALL FOR LOCAL COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS

LOCAL COMMUNITY GROUPS RECEIVED A WELCOMED FINANCIAL BOOST OF OVER £40,000 FROM DUNGANNON AND SOUTH TYRONE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

On Tuesday 20th April the Mayor of Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough Cllr Barry Monteith presented local community groups with funding which totalled over £40,000 for the month of April.

Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council make financial contributions to community groups and organisation throughout the year which ranges from £50 to £20,000 to assist with their running costs and to contribute to large scale community focused events.

Mayor Cllr Monteith praised the hard work of the local community organisations:
'All of the events organised in the Borough whether large or small all take commitment, dedication and hard work from the community focused organisations. These events enrich our Borough in which we live in through reconciliation, regeneration and prosperity'

The following groups attended a reception hosted by the Mayor and were presented with their cheques:
