Major Art Exhibition Now Open at Ranfurly House

A touring art exhibition which focuses on major events of the 16th and 17th century is now open at Ranfurly House (formerly Bank Buildings) in Dungannon.


'From Leaders to Exile - The Flight of the Earls, which runs until 28th March,' offers a unique opportunity to see historic archives on loan from the Archivo General de Simancas in Spain and the National Archives of the UK.


A selection of artefects dating from the period on loan from the Hunt Museum, Limerick, Limerick City Museum and the Pearse Museum, Dublin are also on display.


Visitors to the exhibition can learn about the Nine Years War, the departure of the Ulster Earls and the subsequent Plantation of Ulster and view original Copies documentation signed by Hugh O'Neill, Red Hugh O'Donnell and Rory O'Donnell.


The exhibition is open daily to the public from 9am - 5pm, Saturday 10am - 4pm and Sundays 2pm - 6pm. School visits are now fully booked!. Admission is free.
