Felix 10k & 4k Fun Run
Publish Date: Tuesday, 11 September 2007
It's that time of year again, Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough Council invite all serious and fun runners to take up the chance to run one of the best 10k races on the calendar. The race will take place Saturday 15th September, from Dungannon Leisure Centre.

A new route has been wheel measured for accuracy and is a flatter course than last year, faster times guaranteed. This may be your last chance before the cross-country season starts to achieve a personal best.
This event is renowned for its hospitality, quality t-shirts, refreshments, as well as an excellently well marshalled route. 'Powerade' and D&STBC are delighted again to be associated with this race, with its growing reputation. The hard endeavours of all staff at Dungannon Leisure Centre are a tribute to former colleague - Felix McCullough.
The race is dedicated to Felix McCullough, who was an employee at Dungannon Leisure Centre from 1993, until his sudden death from Lupus, an incurable immune system illness, at the age of 32 in early 2005. Following his death, Felix's colleagues decided to organise a 'Road Race' not to only keep the memory of Felix alive, but also to raise funds for 'Lupus Northern Ireland'.
Cllr Barry Montheith commented "The Felix McCullough 10k is a fitting tribute by the staff of Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough Council to a former colleague. It is also becoming increasingly prominent in the Irish athlete calendar. Most importantly it gives the public the chance to take part in sport as well as contributing to a worthy cause".
Entry prices are £7 (affiliated), £8 (non-affiliated) and £4 for the 4K fun run. The 4K Fun Run starts at 11am, with the 10K kicking off at 12 noon
Visit www.dungannon.gov.uk to register for the race, or call into Dungannon Leisure Centre, but hurry - the first 300 to register receive a free t-shirt!!!
