MEDIEVAL SHOP WINDOW DRESSING COMPETITION
Publish Date: Thursday, 09 August 2007
As the town of Dungannon prepares for the highly anticipated Flight of the Earls Festival from 6-9 September, Dungannon Regeneration Partnership (DRP) in conjunction with newly formed DungannonLife and the Tyrone Courier will hold a special Flight of the Earls Medieval Window Dressing Competition for businesses trading in the town centre. A range of fabulous prizes will be up for grabs!
Mayor of Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council, Cllr Barry Monteith, is looking forward to the retail sector's contribution to creating a festival atmosphere:
"The Flight of the Earls festival runs from 6th-9th September and features a series of events which will feature pageants, processions, live music and entertainment over a five day period. We are grateful for all of the festival planning participation to date, including funding of £1000 from the East Border Region Interreg IIIA Partnership."
In order to inspire town centre traders with ideas on no cost / low cost ways to dress their shop windows and enhance their chances of winning, a FREE Window Dressing Seminar is to be held on Thursday 9th August in Edgemporium, Market Square @ 6.00pm featuring Heather Bradley from 'Your Space'. Heather has a wealth of experience in commercial displays and has run similar workshops in other towns in Northern Ireland.
Sarah-Jane Stevenson, Project Officer of the Interreg IIIA Cross Border Retail Development Programme says "This Festival is a great opportunity to showcase Dungannon Town to local, regional and international audiences and funding has been allocated to help retailers get involved. This free seminar is a wonderful opportunity to gain practical hints and tips from Heather and really make your window stand out from the competition. "
All town centre traders are welcome to attend. For further information or to register your interest please contact Paul on (028) 8772 8602/8615.
