DRP Visitor Signage Project
Publish Date: Friday, 27 April 2007
A Visitor Signage Project, has been implemented by Dungannon Regeneration Partnership (DRP) in conjunction with Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough Council. The aim of the project is to help promote the area to visitors and tourists and facilitate an effective means of access to and around the town.
The project involved the erection of 10 information display panels at various sites in and around the town. The panels provide key information on what Dungannon has to offer and information how to navigate around the town including routes to key attractions. The need for such signage was identified in the Dungannon Regeneration Strategy, which was launched in 2002 with the aim of securing the social, economical and physical regeneration of the town
Councillor Walter Cuddy, Chairman of Dungannon Regeneration Partnership commented:
"I welcome the installation of the information display cases which will be used to display maps and key information for visitors to the town. There now are more people visiting Dungannon than ever before and this new visitor signage will give as much information to visitors as possible."
The project was supported by the EU European Regional Development Fund though the Department for Social Development (DSD).
