Dungannon is 'Altogether Better' for Christmas Shopping!
Publish Date: Thursday, 14 December 2006
Dungannon is officially 'altogether..better' having for the second year in a row won the title of the World's Most Liveable Community at the Livcom Awards in China last month.
Following on from this, the Council in conjunction with Dungannon
Regeneration Partnership (DRP) unveiled the new brand and logo for the town and the graphics for the Christmas Promotional campaign which includes a range of media including billboard advertising and advertising in the local press and radio.
Cllr Walter Cuddy, a prominent retailer and Chair of the Dungannon Regeneration Partnership is delighted with the new branding and commented, "this campaign is building on the success of our previous promotion, having a dedicated town logo together with a new look Christmas campaign reflects the unique offering we have in Dungannon for shoppers, visitors and investors"
The new Christmas campaign is aiming to promote the "altogether...better' shopping experience in Dungannon which is truly unique with its mix of independent traders, The Linen Green at Moygashel, The Oaks Centre and the shops and studios along the Tyrone Craft Trail, all within easy access of the motorway.
Paul McCreedy, Town Development Manager says "Retailers have been reporting ever-increasing numbers of shoppers from out of town over the past couple of years. Our new campaign emphasises that Dungannon not only offers 'altogether better' shopping that is distinctively different from the other major retail centres of Northern Ireland and the Border Counties, but also it has everything else to make it a great day out."
Among the advantages being publicised, include the town's easy accessibility from all over the Province -- and beyond.
"It's a doddle getting to Dungannon. We are also particularly pleased to see an increase in the number of cross border shoppers," says Paul "Many shops are happy to deal in Euros."
"As well as the range of multi-national stores in our busy streets and squares and in established developments such as the Oaks Centre, we are particularly proud of our strong representation of independent locally-owned stores, specialist shops and outdoor markets" continues Paul.
"We have a huge range of shops within walking distance of one another and car-parking is plentiful, so we are ideal for carefree One-Stop Christmas Shopping.
Dungannon's decorations (including the much talked about futuristic Christmas tree) and upbeat atmosphere -enhanced, of course, by Christmas music in the streets -- are up to the standard that visitors would expect from the World's Most Liveable Community.
The town's pubs and restaurants are also pulling out all the stops again this year to provide the best of festive fare and convivial craic, so there's a great time in store for those who are not so keen on Christmas shopping!
