Publish Date: Wednesday, 22 November 2006

A tempting array of locally produced handcrafted giftware, stunning bespoke jewellery, totally unique hand-made cards and sensational stocking fillers are just a few of the tempting Christmas Gifts that visitors can buy at the Christmas Craft Fair on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th November.

Throughout the weekend visitors can take advantage of free admission to the Fair and enjoy the opportunity to browse round the abundance of stalls, all of which offer a diverse range of fun and inspirational gift ideas, making it the ideal place to find that special present for those friends and relatives who are so hard to buy for.

Shopaholics can start their Christmas shopping early at the Craft Fair in Dungannon on Friday 24th from 3pm-9pm and 10am-5pm on Saturday 25th November in St Anne's Church Hall.

You will be spoilt for choice and are sure to pick up ideal gifts for everyone that are guaranteed to be totally unique. There will be Christmas Choirs with plenty of children's entertainment, and Santa may even have his eye on a few potential gift ideas, as he will of course be in his grotto at the Craft Fair.

Local harpist, Gemma Prince will showcase her talents when setting the scene at the opening of the Fair from 3pm on Friday, followed by the very talented Eamonn McCrystal who is sure to wow the crowds with his amazing vocals from 6pm onwards in the main exhibition hall. Meanwhile, children's entertainer Colin Parkhill (Parky) will help make sure the younger audience is well catered for by providing children's entertainment in the form of a Magic Show and Punch & Judy Show in the designated children's area from 6pm onwards.

On Saturday 25th, Santa will be in his Grotto from 11am until 4pm, when he will be leaving to collect his sleigh and magical train to make it back into town in time for the Christmas Lights Switch-On at 5pm in Market Square. Children's face-painting and balloon-modelling will also be carried out from 11am onwards.

A talented group from Parkanaur Training College will stage a performance at 12.30pm followed by an amazing musical set by Clonmore Choir at approximately 2pm and Donaghmore Primary School at 3pm. Rusty and Chuggy from Belfast Circus will perform slapstick comedy and acrobatics in the children's entertainment area in the afternoon.

Christmas in Dungannon & South Tyrone events are organised by Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough Council, in association with the Return of the Earls Dungannon 2007 initiative, and Building Sustainable Prosperity.
