Lithuanian Ambassador Welcomed to Dungannon

The Lithuanian UK Ambassador, Mr Vygaudas Uoackas, was welcomed to Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough Council Offices on Wednesday 11th October.

During his visit, Mr Uoackas attended a meeting with Mayor Cllr Jim Hamilton, Deputy Mayor Cllr Michelle O'Neill, Party Leaders and other Council Officers, where he observed presentations made by representatives of community organisations, 'Animate', 'Step', 'Sure Start' and PSNI.

Following the meeting, Mr Uoackas met with Lithuanian nationals who are currently residents of Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough.

Mayor of Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough, Cllr Jim Hamilton said,

"I am delighted to welcome the Lithuanian ambassador, Mr Vygaudas Uoackas to Dungannon where he will be given the opportunity to hear some of the excellent work both at a strategic level and at a grassound roots level by organisations such as Animate, Step, Sure Start and PSNI."

The visit from the Lithuanian ambassador follows a recent successful visit from the Portuguese ambassador to Dungannon.
