Spooktacular Success in Dungannon
Publish Date: Thursday, 09 November 2006
Hundreds braved the October weather and the 'fangtastic' programme of entertainment on Friday night for the annual Halloween Spooktacular event in Dungannon.
Patrons enjoyed scary street entertainment, ghost story telling in the library, a Planet Halloween dance performance, and a spine chilling spooky sketch show, all co-ordinated under the professional eye of compere Malachi Cush.
Councillor Walter Cuddy, Chairperson of Dungannon Regeneration Partnership who organised the event said:
"Friday night was a resounding success, attracting a huge crowd into Market Square. Feedback from parents and young people has been excellent. Stalls, games and activities were busy and the children's fancy dress competition as popular as ever. The climax of the event was the spectacular fireworks display which was enjoyed by all. Thanks to everyone who supported the event in any way, and to all of those who came out and enjoyed a fantastic family evening of entertainment."
Dungannon's Spooktacular continued with the Haunted Heritage Trails on Saturday night and Tuesday night which were also very popular. Funds raised by Spooktacular events were in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.
DRP would like to thanks the following organisations for their support: Oaks Centre, Dungannon; Dungannon Enterprise Centre, Global Cinemas, Pizza Hut and McDonald's and the ongoing support of Council's Return of the Earls initiative.
