ARTS IN DUNGANNON PARK- Workshops
Everyone welcome to join us for drop-in
workshops at Dungannon Park in September!
Together with different artists you will make art
pieces that will decorate the Park during the
Arts Festival. Admission is Free!

GANNONBALL RUN A ROARING SUCCESS!
The first ever Gannonball Run took place Bank
Holiday Monday 25th August and was a roaring
success! 23 teams took part in this crazy and
thrilling event which saw ‘soap box’ carts scuttle
from Castle Hill down a specially made track
through Market Square in a fun filled, fast paced
family event!

FINANCIAL WINDFALL FOR LOCAL COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS
On Wednesday 27th August Mayor of Dungannon
and South Tyrone Cllr The Lord Morrow MLA of
Clogher Valley held a lunch-time reception in
Dungannon Council Offices to congratulate Local
Community Groups and present over £40,000 in
funding for July and August.

BEGINNING WITH BATS!
Are you interested in bats? Would you like to
find out more about these creatures of the
night? As part of the Dungannon & South Tyrone
Biodiversity Project, a ‘Bat Night’ has been
organised to introduce people to these
misunderstood flying mammals, and to reveal the
truth about some of the ‘Old Wives Tales’
associated with bats.

A full summary of a recent conference
entitled 'Racism: Moving Beyond Denial' is now
online. The conference was organised by
Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council
earlier this year and was led by London based

2008 SUMMER ANGLING SCHOOLS A HUGE SUCCESS!
The annual summer angling schools in Dungannon
Parklake are now over, and almost 80 children
aged 11-18 enjoyed an exciting and fun packed
week of practical and theory based sessions
designed to encourage and improve their angling
skills!
